High school students from Detroit Community Schools will bring history to life throughout the museum by portraying notable African Americans from Detroit, as well as influential figures who have made significant contributions to American history.

Guests can also engage in a thought-provoking panel discussion on Idlewild, a historic African American resort community known for its rich cultural legacy and vibrant nightlife during the early-to-mid 20th century, exploring its rich past and present-day significance. Time TBA

Additionally, families can take part in a creative hands-on activity by designing and mailing postcards inspired by Idlewild’s legacy.

Admission is free! No registration required.
