2nd Annual Concert of Colors DEYA Youth Stage
Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 1-5pm
University of Michigan Detroit Center’s Wolverine Outdoor Stage-Detroit, Michigan

The Concert of Colors welcomes back for a second year the Concert of Colors DEYA Youth Stage, sponsored by the Skillman Foundation and produced by DEYA (Detroit Excellence in Youth Arts) and the University of Michigan Detroit Center, in collaboration with the Children’s Foundation and Connect Detroit. Curated by young people and youth arts workers, this 5-hour event showcases many of Detroit’s most talented young artists – age 14-19 – and most dynamic Youth Arts organizations. This year, in addition to highlighting gifted singers, dancers, poets and musicians, the DEYA Youth Stage will showcase talented young visual artists, whose works will be exhibited and available for purchase online.

There are THREE WAYS talented young artists can participate in this year’s Concert of Colors DEYA Youth Stage:

Ensemble from a Youth Arts Organization

As a Featured Performance Ensemble from a Youth Arts Organization

This year six (6) Performing Ensembles from Detroit Youth Arts organizations will be featured on the Concert of Colors DEYA Youth Stage. These ensembles can perform vocal music, choir, dance, instrumental music, spoken-word poetry, rap, or any combination of the above. This year, the performance ensembles will be chosen by a panel of Youth Artistic Directors.

The applications must be submitted by the Youth Organization. Selected groups will be paid $1500 and perform 20-30 minutes on the DEYA Youth Stage. Deadline for submission is May 9, 2022 at 11:59pm.
