(Outside of the DIA near the corner of Farnsworth and Woodward)

The Concert of Colors welcomes back for a second year the Concert of Colors DEYA Youth Stage, sponsored by the Skillman Foundation and produced by DEYA (Detroit Excellence in Youth Arts) and the University of Michigan Detroit Center, in collaboration with Connect Detroit. Curated by young people and youth arts workers, this 5-hour event showcases many of Detroit’s most talented young artists – age 14-19 – and most dynamic Youth Arts organizations. This year, in addition to highlighting gifted singers, dancers, poets and musicians, the DEYA Youth Stage will showcase talented young visual artists, whose works will be exhibited and available for purchase online.

A DEYA “Artists Kickback” coordinated by the Youth Artistic Directors, in Partnership with Grow Detroit Young Talent (GDYT), will take place from 5-8 PM after the performances in the courtyard of the Hellenic Museum. This is an opportunity for the Detroit young artists to meet in a casual setting to share their creativity and build community across organizations. Participants in the Youth Stage, Youth Art Fair and youth employed by summer arts programs through GDYT, as well as other committed youth artists are welcome. Event is by invitation only. If you are an interested young artist, or you know a young artist who would like to be invited, email 313deya [at] gmail [dot]com.
