Celebrate National Poetry Month with us at our “All Things Detroit Open Mic” Member Night at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum—an evening of creativity, community, and connection along the waterfront. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a first-time reader, or simply someone who loves the rhythm of a well-crafted verse, you’re invited to take the mic or sit back and enjoy.

Share a short poem inspired by Detroit, its people, its stories, its resilience, whether it’s an original piece or a favorite work that captures the spirit of the city. From heartfelt reflections to powerful spoken word, every voice adds something special to the night.
